Historical time zones and daylight-saving rules come from the IANA Time Zone Database, which is in the public domain.

Calculation software

Chinese astrology (Zi Wei Dou Shu) charts use the iztro library (MIT licence). Western astrology positions use Astronomy Engine (MIT licence). The site is built with open-source software including React, Next.js and three.js, each under its own licence. The full licence texts are in /THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt.

Tarot artwork

The card images are scans of Pamela Colman Smith’s original 1909 illustrations, scanned by Saskia Jansen and published on Wikimedia Commons, where they are marked as public domain. The frames and card backs are Lunabao’s own. The card meanings are written for Lunabao, with Arthur Edward Waite’s 1910 book The Pictorial Key to the Tarot as a historical reference.

Classical texts and calendar checks

Short references to classical Chinese texts (Zi Wei Dou Shu Quan Shu and Lunheng) come from Chinese Wikisource transcriptions of public-domain works. Lunar New Year dates were checked against the Hong Kong Observatory calendar tables.

Mascots

The Luna and Bao mascot drawings are placeholder vector artwork made with AI assistance. They are planned to be redrawn by an illustrator.
