Tian Xiang, the Star of the Seal
Tian Xiang is the Minister, a water star whose transformation the classic text calls the seal. It describes an honest, fair-minded helper. We read it as diplomacy, reliability and a strong sense of fairness.
Tian Xiang (天相), the Heavenly Minister, is a water star and the fifth of the Southern Dipper. The classic text says its transformation is the seal (印), the stamp of official approval, and describes a person who speaks truthfully, avoids pretense and feels indignation at injustice. It is the star of the trusted aide, the adviser at the emperor's side.
Think of the seal as a symbol: a seal does nothing on its own, but a document is not valid without one. That is the Tian Xiang temperament, gifted at making things work and at being the person others rely on to get a decision finalized. The text adds that it does well when good company supports it, which fits a star that is all about cooperation.
We read Tian Xiang as tactful, organized, kind and good at balancing conflicting views. It makes a natural mediator and a gifted editor or coordinator. The risk is giving others so much support that you stop saying what you want.
A reflective question: in your group of friends, family or work, who keeps things fair, and is anyone fair to you in return?
