The Property palace (Tian Zhai)

Traditional attribution or legend

The Property palace is read for home, roots and what you inherit. Its name means fields and house. We use it for how you make a base: your living space, family ground and sense of belonging.

Tian Zhai (田宅) means fields and house, and it is the tenth section of the classic's palace chapters. The old text asks whether a person inherits family land or builds from scratch, and the stars it lists are keyed to those two stories. In a farming society, land was the clearest measure of roots.

We treat the palace as a symbol of home in every sense: the place you live, the place you come from, the feeling of being settled. A cozy, protective star suggests that you put effort into making a space feel safe, while a restless one may mean you like to change things around or move more often. Both are fine ways to live.

Across the chart is the Children palace (Zi Nu), and it makes sense as a pair: what you build, and the ground you build it on.

This palace does not tell you what to buy or where to live. A better question is what makes a place feel like yours, and whether you have given yourself permission to create it.
