The Spouse palace (Fu Qi)
The Spouse palace is the area of a Zi Wei Dou Shu chart read for close partnership. It shows what you look for in a partner and how you tend to love. It does not predict whether you will marry.
Fu Qi (夫妻) is the palace of husband and wife. In the classic's palace chapters the section is titled with an older phrase meaning wives and secondary wives, and it is written from a husband's point of view, a reminder of the social world the text came from. We apply the palace to any committed partner, whatever their gender, and often to romantic life more broadly.
The stars here describe the style of closeness you seek and the style you bring. A calm star might point to a love of steadiness and shared routine. A fiery one might point to a need for spark and honesty. Neither is better. What matters is whether you can say out loud what kind of partner you are looking to be.
Across the chart sits the Career palace (Guan Lu). Chart readers like this pairing because it asks an honest question about how love and work share your time and attention.
Use this palace as a conversation starter, and not as a ruling on anyone. Try asking: what do I want from closeness, and what am I willing to offer? The answer may be different from what you said ten years ago.
